If you clean or treat the spot, the stain and odor may disappear, giving the illusion that the urine is removed. However, the salts in the urine are still present. Urine salts do not have an odor when they are dry. But when it gets damp or humid, moisture activates the crystals, and urine odor returns with a vengeance.
